Of course my favorite boy from the litter ended up named after my all-time favorite Nintendo NES game. 🎮🖤
But Fester had a story before he even took his first breath.
He was the stuck puppy.
During labor, I could feel his feet—and I knew he wasn't going to pass. There are moments in breeding when you have to stop hoping things will work themselves out and make a decision. We rushed Mike Tyson’s PUNCHOUT in for an emergency C-section.
It was ridiculously expensive.
And looking at him now, I’d make that decision again a thousand times.
Fester was ultimately the puppy who told me it was time to go. And that decision got him here safely—and helped get the rest of his litter here too.
Now, somehow, that puppy is my absolute favorite boy. 🥹
The head. The body. The markings. The presence. From the beginning, my eye just keeps going back to him.
Maybe that's coincidence.
